Didcot Tn 1 (Gunn 46)

Brackley Town 1 (Sandy 19)

Didcot Town’s resurgence continued under new boss Ady Williams as his ten-man side made it three Premier Division games unbeaten with a draw against Brackley.

Elliott Osbourne-Ricketts was sent off for a second bookable offence in stoppage-time, but Didcot held on.

Although Williams’s side are still bottom, they are just one point from safety.

It looked as though Didcot’s poor home record would continue as they trailed to an Elliot Sandy goal at the break.

But a second-half-revival saw the Railwaymen earn a deserved share of the spoils.

Brackley’s Franny Green had a long-range effort which flew wide, while Didcot’s Michael Alexis saw a goalbound effort blocked.

Didcot went behind when the defence failed to deal with Tom Winters’s corner and Sandy nodded home from 12 yards.

Only brilliant saves from Didcot keeper Sam Warrell denied first Green, and then debutant Michael Chennells as Brackley turned up the heat.

Warrell dived low to divert Green’s shot around a post.

After the break, Didcot came out all guns blazing and equalised within 60 seconds of the restart.

Darren Acton pulled-off a stunning save to deny Andy Williams, but Andy Gunn fired home the rebound.

Brackley then had a goal disallowed when Paul Dempsey beat Warrell, only for the assistant to flag for offside.

Both sides had chances to win it in an end-to-end finish to the game.

Didcot’s Michael Bartley was denied by Acton and then Dave Lawrence fired a great chance into the side netting.

At the other end, Chennells and Winter both came close to grabbing all three points for Brackley.

Didcot held-on despite seeing substitute Osbourne-Ricketts red-carded for two bookings in stoppage time.
