Witney United 2 (Tustain pen 52, 87)

Wootton Bassett Tn 1 (Brown 6)

A double from Joe Tustain saw Witney United fight back from a goal down as they climbed further away from the Premier Division relegation zone with their third win in a row.

Things did not look good for Richard Hill’s side when Matty Brown fired the visitors ahead.

Although Witney battled to get back into the game, Wootton Bassett proved hard to break down.

Shortly after the break, Witney were level when Tustain fired in from the penalty spot after Jack Lonsdale was fouled by keeper Stewart Thompson.

Tustain set up Sean McKeon, but his attempt was foiled by Thompson.

Witney kept up the pressure and were rewarded when Tustain headed home the winner for his second goal past stand-in keeper Sam Collier.

Fairford Town 1 (Franklin 5)

Carterton 3 (Bostock 50, Seacole 71, Williams 82)

Carterton enjoyed a morale-boosting 3-1 win at Fairford.

Trailing to a Dan Franklin goal, it wasn’t until after the break that the visitors levelled when Dave Bostock netted.

Further goals from George Seacole and Carl Williams wrapped up the points.

Letcombe 0 Launton Sports 0

Launton Sports grabbed only their third point of the season with a goalless draw at their Oxfordshire rivals in Division 1 West.

Forced to field defender James Lissiter in goal due to injuries and unavailablity, Launton were made to defend from the off, with Letcombe keeper Steve Vaux a virtual spectator.

Lissiter tipped away a Matt Wilson shot, before blocking an effort from Letcombe debutant Ryan Tappin as he broke through on goal.

Letcombe failed to create many openings in the second half, but they should have taken the lead with ten minutes remaining.

Mark Denny fed Tappin, but he saw his shot roll agonisingly wide of Lissiter’s goal.

Launtonalmost won it late on, but Dan Scourfield’s free-kick hit Vauxon the shoulder before bouncing to safety.
