Bridgwater 4 (Farmer 21, Brimson 34, 75, Jones 78)

North Leigh 0

North Leigh had Kieran Sanders sent off as their nine- game unbeaten run came to an abrupt end with a lacklustre performance at Bridgwater Town in Division 1 South & West on Saturday.

Two first half defensive lapses left themwith a mountain to climb following Sanders’s red card just before the interval.

After Andy Caton twice went close for the visitors, they went behind when Adam Lonsdale’s attempted clearance was charged down by Rhys Farmer, who gathered the loose ball and slotted home the opening goal.

At the other end, Ben Reardon saw his low shot rebound off a post.

Minutes later, George Brimson doubled the hosts lead from six yards out.

Just before the break, North Leigh were reduced to ten men when Sanders was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident.

In the second half, North Leigh defender Stuart Hole had made a goalline clearance from a Kyle Thomas shot, before Brimson smashed in Bridgwater’s third goal.

Carl Jones made it 4-0 before Caton hit the Bridgwater bar, but it wasn’t enough as North Leigh slipped to their first away defeat since October.
