South West 1 East
Witney suffered fresh heartache by letting slip a 14-3 lead to lose 17-14 at home to relegation-threatened Bletchley – their eighth straight loss.
The game began promisingly for Witney, who took the lead with a Henry Lamb penalty.
Skipper James Lamb was denied a try due to a forward pass.
On 20 minutes, Witney full back Jake Thomas hit the line at pace to scythe through.
Bletchley replied with a penalty, but two more Henry Lamb three-pointers, either side of the break, put Witney in command.
The visitors, however, had more hunger and managed a converted try.
Witney lost prop Jamie Burke and scrum half Gareth Campbell to injury.
Another Bletchley seven-pointer sealed the match.
Wallingford were beaten 39-5 at High Wycombe.
Wing Akindigi Akinwale’s try gave Wycombe the lead, but Wallingford replied when hooker Tom Hill went over.
However, this was as good as it got for the visitors.
Akinwale completed a try brace, as did replacement Tyler Lawrence, with centre Mark O’Haire, wing Mark Childerhouse and fly half Peter Connell also on target.
Connell converted two.
