Henley Hawks made it three straight wins with a 27-12 home success over Shelford.

Shelford took an early 6-0 lead thanks to two penalties from fly half Thomas Dann.

Henley hit back with a penalty from fly half James Comben and the duo traded kicks to make it 9-9 at the break.

This was despite Shelford having Taniela Bakoso, Redmond Newberry and Charles Baker sin-binned on 29, 35 and 38 minutes respectively.

Hawks managed the opening try when wing Christoph Bart powered over, but Dan’s fourth penalty made it 14-12.

Comben’s break set up a penalty, which he converted, adding another on 74 minutes.

Shelford had Rupert Ransom sin-binned in stoppage time and Henley took advantage when replacement centre Gavin Turner stepped inside to score, Comben converting.
