Chinnor pipped Weston-super-Mare 20-19 in a thrilling match at Kingsey Road.

The home side battled back from 19-5 down to clinch a bonus-point victory with a 77th-minute try from wing Pip Seymour.

Having edged out Weston 25-21 away in October, they completed a dramatic double over the seasiders.

Chinnor recalled Harry Hillier at full back and he made an instant impact, touching down their opening try after two minutes.

Weston hit back on 15 minutes when wing Paul Sprague scored the first of a try treble.

Chinnor prop Joe Pickett was sin-binned, but they held out until after his return.

More pressure saw Sprague bag his second on 47 minutes, converted by fly half James Mackay.

Sprague crossed for his third try after 55 minutes, Mackay converting.

But the introduction of replacements Ed Vickers, Ed Devine and Andy Berry revitalised them.

Having moved from flanker to centre, Adam Hastings burst through for Chinnor’s second try.

Weston replacement Sam Waterman was sin-binned on 65 minutes.

Lock Harry Jackman crossed over after some good interplay, then Seymour finished in similar style.

Oxford Harlequins failed to register a point for the first time since November 2008 as they lost 36-0 at Old Patesians.

Quins described the pitch as far worse than Witney’s Oxfordshire Cup mudbath, but Old Pats made better use of the conditions.

The visitors were without locks Andy Boyle (dead leg) and Alan Purchase, who had been hospitalised with a stomach bug.

Old Pats led 10-0 after six minutes, thanks to tries from centre Barnaby Pascal and prop Jim King, after a chargedown.

Another blocked kick led to a try from centre Steve Bryant, converted by James Butler.

Home No 8 Isaiah Young was yellow-carded on 38 minutes and was joined by teammate, flanker Mike Jones, and Quins hooker James Clark soon after the break.

Pats hooker bagged try No 4, converted by Butler.

Quins fly half Joey Todd missed penalties in either half.

The hosts managed further tries from Stuart Taylor, converted by Butler, and Henry Bird.

Quins pack kept battling well, while wing Harry Burn and centre Chris Tuatara went close after good runs.
