Southern Counties North
Grove's promotion hopes took a hit with a 20-10 defeat at Milton Keynes on a muddy pitch they felt should have been declared unfit to play.
The visitors started strongly and went ahead with a 14th-minute penalty from scrum half Roger Sevier.
But two tries from prop Kieran McConnell and a Phil Powell conversion put the hosts ahead at the end of a half, which saw Grove captain Nick Sevier adjudged held up and wing Gareth Hudson sin-binned.
Simon Kocklebergh’s try made it 17-3, while Grove saw two more efforts held up before centre Jamie Burns broke through for Roger Sevier to convert.
Grove pushed hard, but Powell’s late penalty sealed it.
Chipping Norton lost 32-19 at home to Beaconsfield.
