CLIVE Brandram secured Frilford Heath’s Seniors’ Club Championship after edging out Gordon Neilson in a play-off.

Brandram and Neilson shot rounds of 76 before a six-foot par putt on the 18th hole earned victory for the former.

Neilson had the consolation of winning the handicap title.

  • THREE Oxfordshire golfers reached the Audi quattro Cup UK regional final after a qualifier at Frilford Heath.

Chris Probets, from Oxford, Tim Horn, from Bicester and Andrew Greasley, from Stratton Audley progressed with 37, 34 and 33 points respectively.

Sean Balch, from Falcutt, near Brackley, won on 38 points, leading the top eight to the regional final at Goodwood, near Chichester, on July 7.

  • OXFORD City went joint top of Section 3 in the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League after overcoming Witney Lakes 2-1.

Witney’s Richard Connar and James Cook took match one 4&2 against Craig Marriott and Daniel Wiggins.

But City sealed the victory thanks to wins from Gavin and Mark Soave, plus Mark Hall and Peter Higgins.
