BANBURY United slipped to a 5-0 defeat at Stourbridge in last night’s Evo-Stik Southern League clash.

The Puritans were trailing just 1-0 in the Premier Division match when the game was delayed by an injury to assistant referee Adam Dean, but conceded four more when play restarted.

Aaron Drake put Stourbridge ahead on 22 minutes, while Simeon Williams headed wide from ten yards for Banbury.

Drake completed his hat-trick in the second half, while Drew Canavan and Sam Rock added to Banbury’s misery.

Didcot Town conceded an 88th-minute winner to lose 1-0 at Halesowen Town in Division 1 South & West.

Lee Chiltern struck late on to inflict a first defeat on new manager Dave Mudge.

In an otherwise even game, Didcot came closest to scoring when Simeon Howell brought a good save from Paul Evans.

Halesowen also had an early chance when Justin Nisbett’s effort was well blocked by Jon Beames.

North Leigh’s home fixture against Cinderford Town was postponed when the floodlights failed before kick-off at Eynsham Park.

THAME United’s penalty scorer in the FA Cup tie against Oxford City on Saturday was Jon Steedman and not Martin Brown as reported in Monday’s Oxford Mail.
