Danny Seaward hit a double as Didcot hit back from a goal down to thrash nine-man Taunton 5-1 in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West at the npower Loop Meadow Stadium on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0 to a RodneyMarsh goal, an incredible second-half display from Dave Mudge’s side turned the game on its head.

Early on, visiting keeper Lee Matthews denied Paul Robinson, Seaward and Steve Davis.

After Harrison Bayley missed a sitter from eight yards, Taunton went ahead after Didcot keeper Dean Santangelo collided with his own player Kevin Halliday, allowing Marsh to head home.

Didcot levelled five minutes after the break when Simeon Howell’s shot was turned home by Seaward at the far post.

Taunton were down to ten men when Owen Irish was red-carded for two bookings.

Seaward gave Didcot the lead when he deflected an Alex Stanley shot past Matthews.

Howell then made it 3-1 to the hosts after Matthews could only parry his initial shot.

Taunton were reduced to nine men when Jon Vance went for a second yellow card.

Seaward had the chance to complete his treble from the spot when James Faulkner was tripped. Matthews saved his kick, but Faulkner lashed home the rebound.

In injury-time, Howell hit No 5, by beating two defenders and firing into the corner of the net.
