Gordon Geary has quit as boss of Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division Kidlington.

Geary tended his resignation following Saturday’s 5-1 thrashing by Cheltenham Saracens.

Goals from Jamie Hammond (2), Lorcan Sheehan (2) and Mike Rhodes saw Saracens go 5-0 up before Jack Quainton hit back for Kidlington.

Meanwhile, Ryan Brooks scored a double as leaders Ardley United sterched their lead at the top to six points with a 4-0 drubbing of Oxfordshire rivals Wantage Town.

Early on, Wantage striker Richie Claydon saw his shot hit a post.

But that was as good as it got for Wantage, with Ardley taking the lead on 25 minutes. Troy Bryan was hauled back in the area, with Brooks scoring the resulting penalty.

Ardley doubled their lead a minute into the second-half. Bryan flicked on a cross from Stuart Bridges for Brooks to fire in his second.

Gareth Tucker in the Wantage goal then flapped at a corner and Bryan pounced on the loose ball for 3-0.

A pass from debutante Chris Foster found fellow sub Andrew Stidder, who placed it wide of Tucker to seal it.

Abingdon Town completed the double over high-flyers Binfield with a battling 1-0 victory.

They took the lead on 23 minutes when Paul Alder’s flick-on was headed home by Adam Lovegrove.

Anaclet Odhiambo then had a header disallowed for offside.

Binfield came out fired up after the break, but Abingdon stood firm.

A 38th minute strike from Connor Hayes earned Thame United a 1-0 victory at Bracknell Town.

Witney Town have appointed former Devizes manager Mark Love as their new boss. He takes over following the sacking of Duncan Colwell.
