Dan Burrows fired home the winner from the penalty spot as Kidlington Old Boys edged to a thrilling 4-3 win at Charlton United in the quarter-finals of the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup.

Dan Jones lobbed in the opener over a stranded Terry Bagnall in the Charlton goal, with Jon Barney hitting Kidlington’s second.

After the break, Burrows made it 3-0 from the spot after a foul by Chris Franklin.

It looked all over for Charlton, but a Steve Gardner goal and a 45-yard cracker from sub Matt Cave cut the deficit, before Gardner prodded home his second for 3-3.

However, Burrows slotted home his second penalty to end Charlton’s hopes of victory.

Riverside strolled to a 4-1 win at Yarnton.

Goals from Otis Woodward, Louis George, Liam O’Callag-han and Aaron Armstrong saw Riverside storm into a 4-0 lead, before Jay Johnstone hit Yarnton’s reply.

A terrific fightback from Slade Farm United proved in vain as they lost 3-2 at home to Broughton & North Newington Res in the third round of the Clarendon Cup.

Matt Worthington and James Castle put Broughton 2-0 up, only for Cameron Macpherson and Sam Jenkins to level.

Worthington then netted the winner for Broughton.

Jason Condor smashed a four-timer and Richard Morgan netted a hat-trick as Garsington Res thrashed Oakley Res 9-0.

Sam Webb and Sam Graham got their other goals.

Stuart Punham scored a hat-trick for Kennington Res as they beat Hinksey Res 4-3 after extra-time.

Dan Croad was their other marksman, with Asha Townsend, Daniel Lawrence and Bilal Kahn on target for Hinksey.

Launton Sports Res eased to a 3-0 win in the first round of the Ivor Gubbins Cup against Enstone Sports Res, with goals from Andrew Chattey, Liam Clark and Matthew Woodward.
