OXFORD City Stars 2nd played out a thrilling 6-6 draw with Swindon Wildcats 2nd at Oxpens Road in English National League South Division 2.
Stars’ third draw in a row saw them climb to seventh in the table, but they could not hold on to a 6-4 lead.
Swindon fielded four former players from Oxford’s defunct first team in Andrew Shurmer, Richard Wojciak, Wayne Fiddes and Gareth Endicott, but fell behind to Jacob Smith’s ninth-minute strike.
Warren Jones and Sam Broughton made it 3-0, but Lee Beardsmore replied.
Colin Mortimer’s fourth was followed by goals from Shurmer and Wojciak, but Broughton made it 5-3.
Louis Neal struck for Swindon, with Nick Oliver slotting Stars’ sixth, but Robin Davison replied.
Endicott’s strike earned a draw in the final period, with Stars expecting the referee to blow for an infringement.
