OXFORDSHIRE 2nd hammered Staffordshire 3rd 12-3 in Division 4C of the Inter-County Championships.

Victory means leaders Oxon are yet to drop a point in thee matches as they seek promotion back to Division 3.

James Barclay and Matt Jackson opened up with tough three-end successes, while wins from Simone Fulle and Kathryn Schutterlin put Oxfordshire 4-0 ahead.

Jackson and Pete Frobisher stormed the men’s doubles 21-12, 21-12 and 21-13, 21-17.

Paul Casey and Barclay also obtained a win in three ends – 21-16, 16-21, 21-10.

In the ladies doubles, Fulle and Claire Tait eased home 21-11, 21-14 and 21-8, 21-12.

Schutterlin and Claire Hamelton won 21-9, 21-6, but lost a close three-end match 21-17, 17-21, 21-17.

In the mixed doubles, Casey and Fulle lost in sudden death 21-16, 16-21, 29-30.

But Frobisher and Tait, plus Jackson and Hamelton won both matches.
