Oxford United have today turned down a bid from Crawley for leading scorer James Constable.
Less than 24 hours after accepting a bid from Swindon for the 27-year-old, it has emerged that fellow League Two side Crawley have also tried to lure Constable from the Kassam Stadium.
Crawley boss Steve Evans said: "I can confirm we have had offers turned down for both Ryan Stevenson and James Constable. We have spoken to Hearts and Oxford United respectively and we respect their right to turn down the offers we made.
"We are some distance apart in what we offered to what those clubs wanted so we will move on to alternative targets we have identified."
