Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas admits the club are disappointed with comments made by Crawley manager Steve Evans about striker James Constable.
The Crawley boss claimed this morning that the League Two outfit have had a offer turned down for Constable.
But Thomas says that the U's have received no formal bids for their leading scorer.
He told the Oxford Mail: "No formal bid has ever been lodged by Crawley Town Football Club.
"Therefore we are very disappointed with comments made by Crawley's manager."
Evans had this morning claimed: ""I can confirm we have had offers turned down for both Ryan Stevenson and James Constable.
"We have spoken to Hearts and Oxford United respectively and we respect their right to turn down the offers we made.
"We are some distance apart in what we offered to what those clubs wanted so we will move on to alternative targets we have identified."
Constable was back in training with United this morning after rejecting the chance to talk to Swindon yesterday, and is set to feature against Hereford at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow
