OXFORDSHIRE’S Gus Jones captained England Under 18s to an 18-16 victory over France at Fylde.
The London Wasps Academy player and former Oxford Harlequins junior started at openside flanker.
Also achieving England honours for a second season is Cokethorpe School captain Henry Purdy, who has been selected for the under 18 Schools and Clubs squad.
Centre Purdy got the nod after impressing for South West Under 18s in last weekend’s Divisional Festival at Broadstreet RFC, where he scored a try in a 36-12 defeat to London & South East.
Purdy has also appeared for London Wasps A against Bath A at the Rec this season.
- OXFORD Harlequins scrum half Graham Sage will become the 100th player to be capped by England Deaf when he lines up against Wales at Fylde on Sunday (1pm).
