OXFORD’S biggest ever rugby league match takes place at Iffley Road tomorrow night, that’s according to the city’s two student teams.

Oxford University host their Brookes rivals, with the game kicking off at 6.30pm.

Brookes spokesman Joel Holmes said: “The Rugby Football League have representatives coming down to watch as well as scouts from one of the professional clubs in London, in what will probably be the biggest game of rugby league in Oxford’s history.

“With two quality squads full of talent and depth, the game promises to be the best yet, with Oxford looking for the hat-trick, and Brookes targeting a maiden win.”

Oxford face Cambridge in the league Varsity Match at Richmond on Thursday, March 8.
