PETER Leven’s sensational strike against Port Vale in October has made the five-strong short-list for goal of the season.
The Oxford midfielder lobbed Port Vale keeper Stuart Tomlinson from 57 yards as the U’s recorded a 2-1 win at the Kassam Stadium.
Leven will be up against Peter Whittingham (Cardiff), Darren Ambrose (Crystal Palace), Kari Arnason (Plymouth) and Paul Coutts (Preston) at the Football League awards dinner on Sunday, March 11.
Meanwhile, one lucky Oxford fan who signs up for the OUFC mobile network and tops up their SIM will be entered into a draw where the winner will receive two tickets for the United v Swindon game a week tomorrow.
