DEREK Asbun captained Oxbridge Under 23 to a 22-16 victory over their Combined Services counterparts at Twickenham.
Oxford University flanker Asbun led the side in the curtain-raiser to the traditional Army versus Navy clash after Cambridge’s Rob Malaney was a late withdrawal due to injury.
Cambridge wing Will Smith scored two tries, with Asbun, who was later sin-binned, also going over, while Oxford’s Matt Janney and Charlie Marr kicked two conversions and a penalty between them.
- BANBURY Under 9s enjoyed a successful tour with victory in the Weymouth Festival.
Tries from Harvey Jones (3), Harvey Machin (3) and Giano Winkler earned Banbury a 35-0 victory over Wimbledon Kestrels, while a Machin try saw them beat Wimbledon Eagles 5-0.
Banbury gained a walkover from Weymouth and when day two was washed out, they were awarded the trophy due to their league results.
