Kennington have regained the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League Premier Section title after beating their main rivals Vikings 3-2 at home, writes PETE EWINS.

Ian Gordon won the opening leg for Kennington 7,930-2,570 against Mick Jones before Ian Moss (7,740) made it 1-1.

Brilliant play by Mark Trafford (15,580) and Kevin Godfrey (15,150, break 15,110) then put Kennnington 3-1 up.

Alan Oliver (5,850) beat Steven Sheard in the final leg after the latter lost a break of 4,500.

Kennington claimed the title by a six-point margin.

Comrades Club are Section 1 champions after whitewashing Masons B 5-0 at home.

Dave Barnes (5,380), Simon Ellam (9,690), Chris Storch (3,630), Adam Thorn (w/o) and Chris Alexander (7,240) were their winners.

Marlborough sealed the Section 2 crown with a 3-2 victory at Berinsfield.

Marlborough were 2-0 down after wins by Tony Broadway and Geoff Mace (8,160) before sealing the title with victories from Iain Major, Arthur McIntyre (5,160) and Chris Bateman (3,290).

Section 3 champions Gladiators B went down 3-2 at home to Headington Conservative Club.

Sid Ponting (7,100), Keith Hollis (4,770) and Tim Jeffreys (3,110) were their winners, but it was not enough to clinch runners-up spot, which went to Dolphin after their 4-1 triumph at Vikings B.

Bex Jarvis, Kirsty Jarvis, Sabrina Storch and Mellissa Standbridge (8,560) were their winners.
