Ducklington 2nd lived up to their name with an incredible seven ducks as they crashed to a dismal 10 all out against Risinghurst 2nd in Division 11 on Saturday, writes Kieren Busnell.

Only two players in Ducklington’s ten-man side managed to trouble the scorers, Steve Townsend top-scoring with six.

The only other player to score was John Smyth, who managed four.

Tom Payne took 5-0, while Muhammed Khademi conceded all the runs in his 3-10, with the other wicket being a run out.

Risinghurst then took just nine balls to reach the target.

Rezwan Rana was too hot to handle as Stanton St John Willows beat leaders Garsington 2nd by 75 runs in Division 5.

After helping his side to 140 all out with 32, Rana then claimed a brilliant 8-25 as Garsington were skittled for 65.

Swinbrook edged past Oxford Rescue & Cassington by one run.

Ben Lucas (85) led Swinbrook to 234-9, and Rescue finished just short at 233-9, Vaughan Roberts hitting 67.

Greg Inge claimed 7-35 to help West Witney to a six-wicket win over Brill, who were dismissed for 92.

Four wickets apiece for Dan Smith and Wayne Sellwood saw Division 6 leaders Kings Sutton to a 17-run over Shrivenham 2nd.

Kings Sutton were all out for only 77 as Matthew Harris claimed 4-22, but Sellwood (4-14) and Smith (4-31) combined as Shrivenham were rolled over for 60.

Ben Curley’s 86 helped Westbury 2nd beat Marcham by 31 runs.

In Division 7, Uffington 2nd defeated Combe 2nd by six wickets to stay top.

Matt Hazell (3-14) and Howard Preene (3-15) combined to dismiss Combe for 58.

Babar Akbar hit 74 in Oxenford 2nd’s 110-run win at Faringdon 2nd.

Oxenford posted 181-8, before Richard Rowley claimed 5-14 in Faringdon’s 71 all out.

Division 8 leaders Steventon eased to an 83-run win at Chadlington 2nd.

Andrew Coate top-scored with 55 in Steventon’s 206-7, before the home side were bowled out for 123, Stephen Boag taking 3-24.

Veteran Peter Baring rolled back the years with 4-19 to help East & Hendred 2nd to a 74-run win over Ducklington.

In Division 9, Radley 2nd closed the gap on leaders Chipping Norton 2nd with an eight-wicket win over Kennington 2nd on Sunday.

David Webb (60) saw Radley to 152-2 after they had restricted Kennington to 151-5.

Ther previous day, Kennington had crashed to 39 all out at home to Minster Lovell 3rd, for whom Lyndsay Halliwell returned the excellent figures of 7-19.

This was in reply to Minster’s 189-8, Joshua Jeffrey top-scoring with 46.

Figures of 5-48 from Nick Merry were in vain as Charlbury 3rd lost by 106 runs against Swinbrook 2nd.

In Division 10, Russell Vircavs hit 52 not out to help Garsington 3rd to an eight-wicket win at Marcham 2nd.

The home side had crawled to 118-6 in bowler-friendly conditions, before Vircavs led Garsington to victory.

Dorchester 2nd by Westcott 2nd by two wickets.

Gary Ellis (71) helped Westcott to 177-9, only for Tom Kitson (63) to see Dorchester home at 178-8.
