BANBURY United boss Ady Fuller insists that he and his assistant manager Paul Lamb have not resigned their posts, even though the club have anounced a new management team of Edwin Stein and Paul West.

Jed McCrory, who is part of the club’s new ownership group, put his new men in charge ahead of Tuesday night’s 1-1 Evo-Stik Southern League draw against Bideford at Spencer Stadium.

It is thought that Fuller had been offered the role of the club’s director of football.

But he is reported as saying: “I haven’t resigned and I haven’t sent in a letter of resignation.”

Stein is the brother of ex-pros Brian and former Oxford United striker Mark, while West was formerly boss at Evesham Town.

McCrory is reported as saying the door remained open for Fuller and Lamb.

Fuller made more than 450 appearances over three spells with Banbury.

Stein played for Edgware Town, Harrow Borough and Dagenham before joining Conference side Barnet, where he spent ten years, making almost 500 appearances. He later became assistant manager to Barry Fry, now supremo at Peterborough United.

Fry moved to Birmingham City in 1993 and Stein went with him, spending three years there before returning to his non-league roots at Harrow Borough.

West was a defender with Port Vale, Bradford City and Wigan Athletic before injury forced him to retire as a pro.

He went on to play for Morecambe and Evesham before moving into management.

He led the Robins to the Southern League Midlands Division title in 2007-8 and held the job until last year.
