AN unbeaten century from Genny Porter helped Oxfordshire Women to a mammoth 154-run win over Wiltshire at Bicester & North Oxford.
Porter scored 100 not out, reaching her century off the last ball of the Oxon innings, which finished at an impressive 240-1 after 50 overs
After being put in to bat, Oxon were given a flying start to the Women’s County Championship Division 3 game by Southern Vipers academy star, Ellie Noble, who made a classy 30.
The rest of the innings was dominated by Porter and CarlaWood.
With Porter nearing an elusive maiden century for the senior women, she needed six runs from the last three balls.
She clubbed the last ball through midwicket for four to finish on 100 not out, while Wood was unbeaten on 68.
After some relentless pressure from spinner Charley Noble, and smart fielding from Hannah Timmins and Ellie Noble, Wiltshire struggled to 67-6 before the teams went off for rain.
After a 40-minute delay, Oxon had only four overs to take four wickets in order to claim maximum bonus points.
Up stepped the youngest player in the side, Sophie Mitchelmore, who took two wickets in her first over, but Wiltshire held out on 86-8.
