WANTAGE Town, who will be playing the Calor League for the first time next season, have signed centre half Ryan Millward from Flackwell Heath.
The defender who spent more than ten years at Binfield, is according to Wantage boss Gary Ackling: “well equipped to make the step up to Southern League football.
“He did very well against us last season and we are delighted to get him on board.”
Striking duo Matt Pedder and Richie Guy along with defenders Robbie Sadler and Stuart Cattel have all agreed terms to play for the Uhlsport Hellenic League champions next season.
Pedder, scored 19 goals in 2013-14, while Guy, who is in his second spell at the club, netted 16 in an injury-reduced campaign.
Meanwhile, Tom Melledew won the two top awards at Wantage’s presentation night, which celebrated a campaign, that saw the reserves and A team also gain promotion.
Melledew was chosen as both the players’ player and managers’ player of the season, while the golden boot for the top goalsciorer went to Richie Claydon for the seventh season in a row.
