There were two big shocks in the preliminary round of the Greene King ODDA Men's Seven-a-side Cup.

The most notable saw Section 6 side Gladiators SC knocked out Section 2 outfit Nuffield Arms 4-3.

And George Bar B claimed a scalp as they produced a superb fightback to defeat Section 1 outfit Shelley Arms 4-3.

Elsewhere, Cowley Community Centre A were thankful to Adam Berry as they snuck past Prince of Wales A 4-3.

The scores were level at 3-3 going into the final game, which Berry won to secure victory.

Red Lion B, from Section 4, were on course to stun Section 1 side College Oak when they took an early lead.

But with the scores level at 2-2, College Oak showed their class and surged to a 5-2 success.

Steventon SC, from Section 2, won 5-2 at Section 10 side Black Swan, while Bullnose Morris B, from Section 8, proved no match for Premier side Shears as they crashed to a 6-1 defeat.

Mason Arms' A and B teams both recorded fine victories, the A team defeating Bricklayers Arms 6-1 and the B team winning 4-3 at Fairview Inn.

Cherwell Club edged to a 4-3 win over Berinsfield Community Centre.
