Adam Durrant hit a late winner as Oxford City extended their unbeaten run in British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West to four games with victory against Marlow at Court Place Farm yesterday.
Durrant snatched the points for City in the 87th minute with a superb left-foot curler into the top corner.
In an uneventful first half, City could easily have fallen behind on a couple of occasions.
Firstly, player-manager Justin Merritt misplaced a back pass to goalkeeper Keiron Drake, who retrieved the situation.
And, in the 27th minute, City were unlucky to have a penalty awarded against them when Lewis Craker was adjudged to have fouled Germaine Roche.
However, the home side were let off as former City player Colin Simpson hit his spot-kick straight into Drake's hands.
In the second half, Billy Beechers had a couple of chances before Merritt rattled the crossbar with a powerful shot after receiving from Durrant's throw-in.
Alex Stewart then shot over from close range, before Durrant had the last word.
