A DISASTROUS final day cost Eddie Pepperell the chance of recording his first European PGA golf title in the Hero India Open.
Going into the final day of this rain-delayed tournament, the Abingdon professional shared the lead after of six-under par after 11 holes of his third round.
Resuming in the morning, Pepperell dropped seven shots in seven holes – including two double-bogeys – to record a third-round 78.
He then dropped four strokes in the back-nine of his final round for a 76 to plummet down the field and finish in joint 22nd on five-over-par 293.
This was 15 shots behind the runaway winner, SSP Chawrasia, from India.
