Charlie Longsdon just can’t stop firing in the winners.

The Chipping Norton handler saw Azure Fly land a two-mile novices’ hurdle at Huntingdon on Sunday, 24 hours after Hannibal The Great won a two-and-a-half mile novices’ hurdle at Fontwell.

And those came after Long-sdon registered a double at Bangor-on-Dee courtesy of Tidal Way and Hazy Tom last Thursday.

Tidal Way (3-1) was appropriately-named for the Welsh track, which was hit by a deluge.

Despite the ground being softer than he’d ideally like, the four-year-old landed a handicap hurdle by three lengths from Jolly Roger under Noel Fehily.

Hazy Tom (11-8) was running for the first time since falling at the last fence when leading at Perth in April.

But he showed no ill-effects for that mishap by powering to a nine-lengths success, again with Fehily on board, from Lamboro Lad in a handicap chase over an extended two-and-a-half miles.

Longsdon said: “I could not have been happier with either horse. They have both greatly improved for the summer off.”

Tindaro gained his biggest success to date for Paul Webber’s Mollington stables, near Banbury, with a thrilling victory at Fontwell last Friday.

Sent off a 4-1 chance, the six-year-old led after the last fence in the Fuller’s London Pride Handicap Chase, before being driven out by champion jockey Tony McCoy to beat King Edmund by three-quarters of a length.

Temple Lord was a further half-length back in third in the £18,500-added contest over two miles and two furlongs.
