BANBURY strengthened their grip at the top of the Oxfordshire, Bucks & Berks Division 1 Colts League after a battling 14-8 victory away at closest rivals Maidenhead.
The hosts went ahead through an early try, but a fine effort from flanker Reece Lines after a five-metre line-out levelled the score.
A penalty from fly half Sam Manning edged Banbury ahead, but the home team drew level with a penalty of their own.
However, the second half saw Banbury step up their game and another Manning penalty edged them ahead.
A third penalty from the same player was enough to seal victory and extend their lead at the top of the table.
