ALEXIS Canter missed out on his second professional ranking point in a straight sets loss at an ITF Futures tournament in Sharm El Sheikh.
The 17-year-old, from Long Wittenham, lost 6-4, 6-2 to Italian fifth seed Riccardo Bonadio in the first round of the $10,000 Soho Square Egypt F24 Men’s Future.
Canter, ranked 1,991 on the ATP World Tour, advanced to the main draw with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Austria’s Norbert Nagyi in qualifying.
He was also beaten in the first round of the doubles, partnering 20-year-old Constantinos Ioannides from Cyprus.
They lost 7-6, 6-3 to third seeds Javier Pulgar-Garcia and Marko Tepavac.
